Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Storeroom Assistant in Baton Rouge to efficiently manage storeroom operations, issue and receive supplies, and maintain inventory records. You will oversee other staff, operate material handling equipment, and ensure safety compliance in daily tasks.

Qualified candidates have at least three years of storeroom experience, with the ability to obtain automobile/truck operator licenses and material-handling certifications. Onsite work is required, with travel up to 25%.

Job Qualifications

Under general supervision, with some latitude for planning or laying out of working details and with responsibility for results, must be able to efficiently operate storeroom, issue and receive supplies and merchandise, maintain records necessary to properly record issue or receipt of all items passing through storeroom, take inventories, direct work of other storeroom employees, operate equipment used in handling material, and do related work as assigned.

Experience And Special Qualifications

• Must have worked for at least three years, and qualified as Storeroom Assistant, or have had equivalent experience in related work.
• Be able to qualify for automobile and truck operator's license and certification to operate Company equipment for handling material.
• Know storekeeping procedure and be familiar with all records maintained in the storeroom.
• Know materials and be able to identify same by type, size, serial number, etc.
• Must know and practice Company's applicable safety rules.
• Have a working knowledge of computers and current computer applications.
• Know location of firefighting equipment and be familiar with operation and use of the various types.

Physical Qualifications

• Must have full use of mental and physical faculties.
• Have strength and endurance adequate for arduous labor as circumstances may require.

Personal Qualifications

• Be energetic and alert.
• Be willing to work under unusual surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
• Be able to receive and execute orders and instructions in such a manner as to inspire respect of associates.
• Have temperament suited to work of a routine and confining nature and be able to work in harmony with other employees.
• Understand the importance of treating as confidential certain items handled, and have ability to recognize such items.
