Job summary

Star City Games in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a Storefront Buyer to acquire inventory through storefront appointments and mail-in purchases. You will grade and sort inventory, process mail buys, and handle ship-and-sell activities.

The role requires strong MTG and Pokémon knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to top-tier customer service within a fast-paced, friendly shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Purchase inventory from customers in-store storefront.

• Schedule store appointments for sell requests and bulk purchases.

Calling all trainers, duelists, and collectors! Summary:

Storefront Buyers are responsible for purchasing inventory through Storefront appointments and customer mail-in purchases. They assist with grading and sorting inventory in addition to processing mail buys and Ship + Sells.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong familiarity with Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and other TCG.
• Strong mechanical understanding of how to work with Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and other TCGs.
• Possess great attention to detail.
• Able to provide exceptional customer service.
• Able to react calmly in stressful situations.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual.
• Able to work well independently and as a part of a team.
• Purchase inventory from customers in the Storefront.
• Purchase collections from customers through mail-in processes.
• Grade and check purchased inventory.
• Process mail-in sell requests using the Buyer Admin.
• Communicate with customers about their sell requests using the Buyer Admin and Gorgias.
• Answer mail-buyer phone calls and return mail-buyer voicemails.
• Schedule appointments in the Storefront for sell requests and bulk or large quantity purchases.
• Assist with other projects as assigned by Management.

Work Environment, Physical, and Mental Demands:

‘Regularly’ indicates this action would generally occur for over 5 hours each shift.
‘Frequently’ would generally occur for 2.5 to 5 hours each shift.
‘Occasionally’ would occur periodically but is necessary to complete essential duties.

• Regularly required to utilize finger and hand dexterity with repetitive motion tasks.
• Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
• Regularly operate a computer, utilizing a mouse and keyboard.
• Frequently required to lift and carry up to 45 pounds for short distances.
• Frequently must stoop, bend, kneel, reach, and maintain full dexterity.
• Occasionally operate a phone.
• Work environment often has airborne dust particles.
