Job description

The primary purpose of the position is to perform the duties of a Store Worker (Fork Lift Operator). Incumbent works in one or more departments within the store and performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, handling, marking, preparing, displaying, and maintaining the stock levels of resale items. The work involves regular and recurring operation of an electric, diesel, or gasoline powered fork lift.

Physical requirements:

• (1) Work requires continuous walking, standing, bending, or stooping, and use of arms to fill shelves and counters.
• (2) Frequently lifts or moves heavy boxes or crates weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
• (3) While operating a forklift, uses moderate physical effort in operating hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting, and stopping the forklift, and raising, lowering and tilting loads being moved.

Work environment:

Exposure to extreme temperatures or conditions. Danger of minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes, and bruises, or heat sealer burns. While operating a forklift, may receive cuts, bruises and broken bones from shifting loads, toppling stacks, overturning forklifts, falling objects or accidents with other moving equipment.
