Job summary

The Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a dedicated individual to coordinate and conduct training for partners in retail locations. This position includes onboarding new hires and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and state laws.

Job description

Job Summary

Coordinates with retail management to train and develop partners. Works closely with front‑end partners to ensure training guidelines are being followed, monitors partner progress and provides recommendations for training opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Trains and develops partners in conjunction with upper management.
  • Conducts retail partner onboarding and introduces new hires to company policies, procedures, people, and culture.
  • Collaborates with retail management to identify partners in need of training and ensures all necessary training modules are completed.
  • Stays current on company policies, procedures, business initiatives, and technologies.
  • Receives teaching materials from corporate and conducts training sessions on a wide variety of areas such as on‑the‑job training and refresher training.
  • Reports partner progress during training periods to management.
  • Assists partners with position‑specific issues by providing suggestions to management to improve work procedures.
  • Works with front‑end partners to provide a friendly, customer‑service‑oriented attitude and makes on‑the‑spot corrections as needed.
  • Ensures the store is presentable for customers.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to company safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Intermediate understanding of company checkout policies and procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge and compliance of state laws regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery.
  • Intermediate knowledge of anti‑money laundering and other government regulations related to monetary transactions.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to motivate others and work well in a team.
  • Detail‑oriented and can evaluate partner performance and make corrections tactfully.
  • Ability to learn new processes and transfer knowledge to others.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office functions.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Effectively communicates (written and verbal) with customers and partners.
  • Works flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attentive to potential hazards and responds appropriately.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience.
  • HIPAA certification required.
  • Food handler certification required.
  • TABC/LACT/AATC certification required where applicable.
  • Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
Physical Demands
  • Continuous need for close, distance, and depth vision.
  • Frequent speaking and hearing.
  • Frequent use of hands for reaching, touching, or handling.
  • Frequent use of fine finger movements (e.g., sorting and typing).
  • Frequent sitting for long periods.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, maneuvering, or lifting objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, or squatting.
  • Occasional standing or walking.
Work Context and Environment

Work is generally performed in a retail store. Occasionally exposed to extreme cold, heat, wet, slippery or damp conditions. Noise level is quiet to moderate.
