Responsibilities/Qualifications

As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. Providing exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity during your workday, you will:

• Help neighbors select the perfect toy for a terrier that likes to chew
• Review and compare ingredient labels of various food brands for a concerned cat parent
• Fit a squirming dachshund with the perfect harness
• Educate a sixth grader on bird ownership
• Stock shelves and ring up neighbors’ purchases
• Feed and care for all the furry pets in the store

All while engaging with neighbors and smiling through puppy breath. Are you awesome? More than that—you’re PAWsome! A Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Member may specialize in:

Cashier

• Processing purchases accurately and efficiently
• Providing information about our Preferred Pet Club membership

Stocker

• Unloading deliveries safely
• Stocking shelves with pet products
• Carrying purchases to customers’ cars

Pet Care

• Caring for store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals
• Answering questions about pet care to help customers find or maintain the perfect pet

This role can be physically demanding, involving heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and standing for long periods. We support learning through our Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs. Ideal candidates will:

• Support team members as backup when needed
• Be knowledgeable about animals and products
• Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Pass a drug screening (where applicable) and be 16 years or older
