An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Animal Care Specialist to provide exceptional care for animals at their facility. This role involves feeding, administering medications, and performing humane euthanasia when necessary. Under general supervision,provides excellent humane care for the animals brought to and housed withinAnimal Services. Feeds and provides daily care for animals at the AnimalServices Center; responsible for intaking, micro-chipping, vaccinating, and administeringmedications and performing humane euthanasia to animals. Responsible for animalhusbandry, cleaning and sanitizing animal kennels, pens, and cages. Due to thepolitically sensitive and high-profile nature of the job, staff must be able touse discretion and have a high level of confidentiality.

Qualifying Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent. Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record. Must obtain and maintain a Euthanasia Certification in accordance with 821 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, within four months of employment.
Background Requirements :
This position requires successful completion of a Criminal Background Check, Motor Vehicle Review, Drug and Alcohol Testing, Physical Examination, and HPE – Human Performance Evaluation.
Environmental Factors and Safety Hazards :
Subject to chemicals, dust, odor, zoonosis, parasites, mold, aggressive animal(s), and mite hazards. Work hours may include weekends, evenings and / or after hour call. Duty assignments may require rotation within divisional units because of the technical, procedural and or legal knowledge required of the assignment. Some individuals may be appointed to permanent assignments which may not require the rotation of duty assignments.
