They are responsible for ensuring fast, friendly customer service, helping customers navigate the wide range of products Academy offers, and impacting customer satisfaction, store profitability, and our mission.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Work Experience:

• Previous related work experience preferred.
• Experience operating POS equipment, symbol, and telephone preferred (Cashier only).
• Support of people and processes to drive operational excellence and sales targets (Cashier only).
• 4+ years of outdoor hobbies and skills; fishing and hunting experience preferred (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• CPR and First Responder certification is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).
• Loss Prevention or Criminal Justice background is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Skills:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to connect and build rapport with customers, bilingual skills a plus.
• Effective problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to read and follow safety and operational documents.
• Proficiency in basic math and understanding instructions.
• Operate POS, symbol, and telephone equipment (Cashier only).
• Write routine reports and correspondence (Cashier only).
• Knowledge of inventory software and order systems (Cashier only).
• Passionate about outdoor hobbies and skills (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• Must meet legal requirements for firearm sales (Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member only).
• Proficient with basic tools and equipment.
• Provide friendly, prompt customer service.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Strong situational awareness.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good hearing and vision.
• Adherence to work hours, policies, and rules.
• Ability to walk, reach, talk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, lift up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• Constant use of hands and fingers, good vision abilities.
