Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior technical leader to own the Store systems architecture and modernization roadmap. You will drive the technical vision, oversee architecture reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and observable store platforms across company-owned and partner stores.

You will collaborate with product, security, and operations teams to align enterprise roadmaps with modern software practices and cloud-native patterns, delivering measurable business impact and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years’ software engineering and technology experience, with 5+ years in senior technical leadership guiding architecture and delivery.
• Expert knowledge of modern software development practices (Agile, DevOps, Lean, Kanban, SAFe).
• Hands-on with cloud-native stacks including Java/Spring Boot, Python, Node.js, GCP/AWS/Azure, APIs, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, observability, and CI/CD.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale integrations across Store systems, POS, WMS/OMS/TMS, ERP, and related platforms.
• Deep understanding of store technology platforms, edge computing, IoT-enabled devices, APIs, event-driven architecture, observability, and support models.
• Strong engineering discipline across data integration patterns, design patterns, testing, and scalable quality.
• Experience defining lightweight warehouse management capabilities for store and fulfillment operations.
• AI-enabled engineering capabilities and multi-agent orchestration in secure environments (preferred).
• Experience standardizing templates across multi-store/multi-warehouse networks.
• Proven ability to deliver measurable business impact (cost reduction, faster onboarding, reliability, efficiency).
• AI-enabled tooling supporting productivity, documentation, testing, analysis, coding, prototyping, and ops support.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex decisions to engineers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term technical vision, architecture, and standards for Store systems.
• Develop initiatives to modernize Store systems for reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Engage with vendors and enterprise teams to evaluate technologies for store platforms and edge devices.
• Guide enterprise integration patterns and cloud-native architecture for resilient Store systems.
• Lead architecture reviews to ensure security, scalability, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Oversee delivery with a focus on automation, quality, and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expose Store capabilities through unified experiences.
• Evolve legacy platforms and reusable patterns to accelerate delivery across store capabilities.
