Job summary

Job Summary

Store Supervisors serve as lead workers in the day-to-day activities of the sales floor, donation door operations, and donated goods processing. They are accountable for the store operations while acting as manager on duty. Operations include the collection of donations, processing, pricing, stocking, performing register transactions, and handling donated goods overall to meet expected goals at every step of the process. This position requires a strong customer focus, operating with minimum supervision, and understanding business demands.

Essential Job Duties
  1. Ability to successfully perform all duties of a Retail Associate
  2. Train, coach, and provide feedback to help staff strengthen and develop skills
  3. Ensure store staff follows policies and procedures
  4. Demonstrate leadership and positive role modeling for retail staff
  5. Report loss control concerns to the General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager in a timely manner
  6. Effectively manage time and monitor retail staff time to ensure that work is completed
  7. Assume responsibility and accountability for the completion of job duties and meet production goals
  8. Perform bank deposits and related cash-handling duties
  9. Fill in for store staff as needed
  10. Perform opening and closing procedures
  11. Assign tasks and supervise Retail Associate and Team Lead performance while acting as manager on duty
  12. Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

1 year of experience in a lead capacity and/or quality control or oversight, preferably in a retail establishment

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel; and point-of-sale software

Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment
  • Requires proficiency with the Google business platform and/or Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel and the ability to utilize other software such as payroll and point of sale
  • Requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of insurance and reliable transportation
  • Mentains confidentiality of information related to LLGI operations, financial matters and personnel matters
  • Works independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere

Physical Requirements
  • Lift or move up to 50 pounds of clothing and housewares safely on and off retail shelving fixtures up to 10 feet high, clothing racks 4 feet high, and z-racks 6 feet high
  • Push and pull z-racks holding up to 100 pieces of clothing and weighing a minimum of 150 pounds
  • Ability to bend and reach into gaylords 5 feet high to remove clothing and housewares
  • Manual dexterity to fasten and unfasten buttons; snaps and zippers; operate cash registers and tagging guns
  • Stand for long periods throughout the day
  • The ability to perform a combination of tasks for extended periods such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing or pulling objects, to sorting and hanging clothing, and placing housewares on shelves and racks
  • Demonstrate visual acuity to evaluate donated items for quality
  • The ability to identify smells to evaluate donations for undesirable odors such as mold, must, dust, bodily fluids and/or urine
Environmental Conditions

Work in a light industrial/warehouse environment with exposure to heat and cold

Subject to exposure to allergens including dirt, dust, mold, metals, rubber, plastics, latex, and pet hair

Requires occasional travel to other stores and job sites
