Position Overview

As a Security Coordinator at a Wegmans store, you will ensure a safe and secure environment for customers and employees. You will act as a liaison between Asset Protection, store management, and staff, requiring a self-motivated, task-oriented individual who is highly visible and provides excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

1. Implement safety programs to promote a positive shopping experience and safe work environment
2. Partner with management to develop strategies to maximize sales and reduce theft-related shrinkage
3. Build relationships with community organizations and emergency responders to enhance safety and security
4. Monitor customers, vendors, and employees discreetly to prevent loss and apprehend shoplifters
5. Manage CCTV and security systems
6. Handle emergencies such as medical issues and fire alarms with effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
7. Conduct investigations and surveillances under supervision
8. Respond to emergencies, providing support to employees and customers

Minimum Qualifications

• Police, military law enforcement, or special operations experience
• Problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and composure under stress
• Technical skills, including proficiency with MS Office
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field
• Experience in security, loss prevention, or asset protection
• EMS or first responder experience
• Retail management or leadership experience
