Position Overview

As a Security Coordinator at a Wegmans store, you will ensure a safe environment for customers and employees. You will act as a liaison between Asset Protection, store management, and staff, requiring a self-motivated, task-oriented individual who is highly visible and capable of building relationships and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

1. Implement safety programs to promote a positive shopping and working environment
2. Collaborate with management to develop strategies to reduce theft and increase sales, analyzing industry data and trends
3. Build relationships with community organizations and emergency responders to enhance safety measures
4. Observe and prevent loss discreetly, apprehend shoplifters using various resources
5. Manage CCTV and security systems
6. Handle emergencies such as medical incidents and fire alarms, using problem-solving skills
7. Respond to emergencies and support staff and customers
8. Conduct investigations and surveillance under the guidance of the Asset Protection Manager

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in police, military law enforcement, or special operations
• Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and composure under stress
• Proficiency with MS Office and technical skills
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field
• Experience in security, loss prevention, or asset protection
• Emergency Medical Services or first responder experience
• Leadership experience in retail or related fields
