Position Overview

As a Security Coordinator at a Wegmans store, you will ensure a safe environment for customers and employees. You will act as a liaison between the Asset Protection team, store management, and staff. This role requires a self-motivated, task-oriented individual who is highly visible and committed to excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Implement safety programs to ensure a positive shopping experience and safe work environment
2. Collaborate with management on asset protection strategies to maximize sales and reduce theft
3. Build relationships with community organizations and emergency responders to enhance safety
4. Observe and prevent loss discreetly, including apprehending shoplifters
5. Manage CCTV and security systems
6. Handle emergencies like medical incidents and fire alarms effectively
7. Conduct investigations and surveillances under supervision
8. Respond to emergencies, providing support to employees and customers

Minimum Qualifications

• Police, military law enforcement, or special operations experience
• Proven problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities
• Effective communication and composure under stress
• Advanced PC skills, including MS Office proficiency
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field
• Experience in security, loss prevention, or asset protection
• EMS or First Responder experience
• Leadership experience in retail or related fields
