Job summary

CITITRENDS, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver excellent customer service and maintain product knowledge in-store. The role requires a proactive, vigilant approach and strong integrity in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will process transactions, assist with merchandising, and uphold store policies, safety procedures, and a positive work culture while supporting change in the retail environment. This position is in-store and non-exempt.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Processes freight.
• Assisting with price changes/markdowns.
• Balances register according to company policy.
• Bags merchandise efficiently when completing a customer's transaction.
• Handles all cash, checks and credit cards correctly and by company policy.
• Obtains management approval when needed for returns, voids and checks.
• Handles maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Provides proper customer service such as greeting customers, abiding by fitting room policies, ringing customers in a timely fashion, thanking customers, and inviting them to return.
• Follows all safety procedures.
• Maintains professional appearance, including wearing a name tag.
• Assists management in merchandising sales floor according to stock level.
• Explains exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Assists Store Manager with Loss Prevention procedures and reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Associate is responsible for playing a critical role by delivering excellent customer service and by having knowledge of the merchandise to achieve excellent customer satisfaction. This position requires a proactive and vigilant individual who will remain highly engaged with customers, demonstrate integrity, effective communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic retail setting. The Sales Associate will play a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ OUTCOMES

• Explains our exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions.
• Responsible for assisting Store Manager with Loss Prevention procedures, including preventing shoplifting and cash losses, reporting incidents of theft or dishonesty and following all current operational policies.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
