Salary Range: $15.28 To $19.72 Hourly

MAIN FUNCTION:

Responsible for counting and ordering inventory items to maintain adequate levels according to established par levels. Responsible for physically receiving and documenting all deliveries to the facility. Responsible for inventories, replenishment, and distributions to hospital supply carts.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director, Materials

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED.

1 years experience in some phase of purchasing to include ordering, inventory control, minimum/maximum inventory levels, shipping and receiving, and print shop functions.

Capable of repetitive lifting up to 20 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
  • Follows Appropriate Service Standards

Computer, keyboard, EDI (electronic data interchange) experience.

Previous hospital purchasing experience.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
  • Takes accurate inventory counts on a scheduled basis to determine items to be ordered, stocked, and distributed.
  • Initiates purchase orders for inventory items according to established reorder points and quantities.
  • Monitors inventory data on a continuing basis as to changes in price, unit of measure, vendor, location, etc. and updates inventory master files accordingly.
  • Maintains inventory count books in neat, organized condition, updated to be current.
  • Verifies and posts receipts for inventory items manually; enters receiving information into automated system; files accordingly.
  • Verifies and enters issues and transfers into automated system accurately and timely.
  • Monitors all stockroom transactions to assure proper documentation of all supplies leaving the stockroom and documents all transactions involving outside purchases and bills accordingly.
  • Coordinates returns and exchanges on inventory items and documents to assure proper credits from vendors.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Enters/documents receipts according to purchase order, line item, cat.#, etc. and enters onto computer system.
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Tags and shelves chargeable inventory items.
  • Set-up and maintain supply carts inventory on computer and make revisions as necessary. Maintain in neat well organized condition and rotate stock according to expiration dates.
  • Fill and distribute weekly supplies orders by department according to schedule.
  • Maintain storeroom in neat organized condition.
  • Capable of operating a motor vehicle and has obtained a driver's license.
  • Required to take year end physical inventory as requested.
