Job summary

Community Memorial Hospital in New York is seeking an Inventory Clerk to manage hospital warehouse stock levels and POL locations, ensuring timely replenishment and accurate receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.

The role requires 3+ years in inventory management with ERP proficiency and strong attention to detail, including data entry. Candidates should be team players, flexible with hours, and able to meet regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in Inventory Management/Warehouse/Purchasing/Materials
  • Proficient in computers, including Materials Management systems, Microsoft Office products, and the ability to learn new systems
  • Capable of learning all aspects of Purchasing and Storeroom
  • Ability to work in a team environment and deliver high-level customer service in a professional manner

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and maintains inventory levels for the hospital warehouse, including Warehouse and Departmental PAR locations
  • Replenishes the hospital warehouse by daily inventory of goods and requests
  • Ensures all received products are properly stored, with appropriate rotation
  • Removes expired items and replaces them in a timely manner
  • Performs annual physical inventory and cycle counting as needed
  • Reconciles actual stock counts to computer-generated reports
  • Processes purchase orders using phone, email, online ordering, and fax
  • Supports cost containment: purchasing under contracts, inventory reductions, standardization of products, etc.
  • Facilitates ordering, purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution of hospital goods
  • Maintains external department PAR level locations and performs daily replenishment to ensure patient care areas are adequately supplied
  • Processes recall notifications
  • Assists in the implementation of the ERP system
  • Utilizes and maintains the ERP system (including Oracle and Multiview) and bar code scanning as part of the system
  • Ensures products are purchased at best price using hospital pricing contracts
  • Expedites back orders and determines substitutions as needed
  • Resolves issues related to receipt of inventory goods
  • Receives all inbound shipments, inspects for damage, and delivers packages accordingly
  • Processes outbound shipments as needed or requested
  • Maintains patient charging stickering for defined items
  • Maintains storeroom areas in compliance with all storage requirements
  • Performs routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering phones and assisting customers as needed
  • Adheres to established guidelines of regulatory agencies

Responsibilities and Duties: Secondary
  • Provides back up coverage to Materials Management Clerk II & III functions as needed or requested, including processing orders, operating room replenishment, invoice processing, and filling customer requests
  • All other duties as requested
Job Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma Required
  • 3 years of experience in Inventory Management/Warehouse/Purchasing/Materials
  • Proficient in computers, including Materials Management systems, Microsoft Office products, and the ability to learn new systems
  • Capable of learning all aspects of Purchasing and Storeroom
  • Ability to work in a team environment and deliver high-level customer service in a professional manner
  • Flexible with working hours when providing coverage to other positions and/or training
  • Completes all mandatory education and requirements
