Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity including Computer Assisted Ordering and balance on hand (BOH) accuracy.
• Check condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of product received.
• Process damaged/returned goods and complete/process paperwork.
• Assist with markdowns and 5S process of markdown locations.
• Ensure inventory management for all delivered product.
• Manage Direct Store Delivery (DSD) ad plan, inventory and ad space on sales floor.
• Scan DSD out of stocks and communicate with vendors.
• Maintain 5S standards in receiving and backroom area.
• Ensure vendors follow company policies and procedures including vendor dress code.
• Assist with scheduling routine price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
• Assist with planning, organizing and supervising the inventory process.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Assist with perishable donation program.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
• Ensure shipping and receiving tools are working properly for smooth transition of products into store and inventory logs.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate personnel of needed repairs.
• Ensure maximum security of receiving area and backroom.
• Develop and train DSD Receiver back up.
• Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates and vendors.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve goals.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in appraisal process.
• Assist in other departments when needed.
• Attend required classes and meetings.
• Prepare for and perform quarterly inventory of department.
• Unload groceries and operate checkout terminal; execute monetary transactions for customer as needed.
• Bag groceries and load into shopping carts as needed.
