Job summary

Dollar Tree in Lexington, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with opening/closing procedures, supervise associates, and help ensure a clean, well-stocked sales floor.

You’ll engage with customers professionally, read directives, and help manage merchandise and loss prevention. This role requires communication, teamwork and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure store associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
