Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Joplin, MO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with store functions, train staff, and maintain safe, friendly shopping environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for showroom effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and neat, including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
