Job summary

US Foods is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead front-end operations, coach staff, control shrink, and support the Store Manager in achieving sales and profit targets. The role requires a strong retail background, supervisory experience, and adaptability to a flexible schedule.

Front-line duties include training, inventory, and customer service excellence. This position involves working in a retail environment with exposure to coolers/freezers and requires occasional extended hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years experience in a retail work environment.
• Must have at least two (2) years of management/supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Competency with computer use, spreadsheets, word processing, email and internet software.
• Cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach employees at registers and throughout the store.
• Address personnel and performance issues with coaching and warnings.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and HR on progressive discipline and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with personnel policies and store procedures.
• Analyze AOP and translate into monthly profits and losses, assist in budgeting.
• Participate in annual inventory and staff training on required programs.
• Interview, hire, orient and train assigned employee groups.
• Provide day-to-day direction including schedules and sales/shrink targets.
