Job summary

Family Dollar in Laurel, MS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise Store Associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. You will participate in opening/closing procedures and ensure policy compliance while maintaining a safe, friendly store atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required/preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash.
• Ensure adherence to policies, safety guidelines, and procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe and respectful environment.
