Job summary

Family Dollar in Carlin, Nevada is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, open/close procedures, and adherence to company directives while maintaining clean, organized departments.

The role emphasizes strong communication, hands-on leadership, and the ability to train and mentor Store Associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and handling payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
