Job summary

Smart Foodservice Stores in Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help drive store performance through merchandising, staffing, and customer service excellence. You will work closely with the Store Manager to execute the annual operating plan and ensure profit goals are met.

Responsibilities include supervising front-end staff, training on shrink control and service standards, planning budgets, inventories, and maintaining a safe, well-stocked store.

Qualifications

• A two-year college degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• A degree in Business Management, Supply Chain/Wholesale Management, or Accounting / Finance is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a retail work environment is required.
• Must have at least two (2) years of management/supervisory experience.
• Must possess strong planning and solid organizational skills.
• Must exhibit the strong desire and ability to deliver superior customer service.
• Must possess the ability to think quickly and critically, make good, solid business decisions; demonstrate good common sense; and have the ability to think logically.
• Must maintain excellent leadership skills, be highly motivated

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach front-end employees for efficient service.
• Assist in implementing the Annual Operating Plan and budgets.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff for operations and customer service.
• Ensure adherence to personnel policies and store SOPs.
• Oversee front-end shrink control and safety procedures.
• Plan in-store demonstrations and merchandising activities.
• Oversee inventory processes and restocking of shelves.
• Communicate programs and updates to staff and document follow-up.
