Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated cashier/stocker who can act in a lead capacity when the Store Manager or Assistant Manager is away. You will greet customers, stock shelves, run the register, and help implement plan-o-grams.

You will unload trucks, assist in receiving and merchandising, and maintain a clean, safe store while delivering excellent customer service. A high school diploma or equivalent and some supervisory exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math for transactions and change calculations.
• Experience with cash handling, cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions and related hardware.
• Familiarity with safety, loss prevention and cash control policies.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and on-floor procedures.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers, stock merchandise, and maintain store appearance.
• Operate cash register, itemize purchases, bag items, and make change.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and merchandise displays.
• Unload trucks, stock, rotate, and restock merchandise as needed.
• Provide leadership in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety, including front-end areas and restrooms.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash drawer accuracy, and store security.
