Job summary

Family Dollar in Elko, Nevada is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves daily store activities, merchandising, opening/closing duties, and ensuring policies are followed.

You will train and supervise Store Associates, maintain a safe environment, and help maximize store performance while delivering friendly, professional service to customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional authenticity of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling records, and loss prevention.
• Maintain stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure all associates follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team.
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors; take out trash.
