Dollar Tree Stores in Clayton, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities and help maintain store standards.

This role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving as you supervise, train, and develop store associates while ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties (walking, standing, bending, lifting).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays and ensure promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering and loss prevention, and keep records related to payroll and scheduling.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
