As part of the department, you will answer questions, promote products, monitor freshness and dates, and ensure accurate labeling, stocking and safety compliance. The role emphasizes respect, integrity and safety as core values.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Retail experience is a plus; Second language skills are desirable.

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of grocery specials
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with fresh products
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Report safety risks/issues and illegal activity
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation

• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered
