STORE/NIGHT CLERK (Finance)

Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Minimum requirements:

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Effective communication skills

Desired qualifications:

• Any retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)

Additional responsibilities include:

• Promoting trust and respect among associates
• Creating an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
• Gaining and maintaining knowledge of products sold within the department and responding to questions and making suggestions about products
• Recommending grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need; informing customers of grocery specials
• Checking product quality to ensure freshness; reviewing sell-by dates and taking appropriate action
• Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise; providing customers with fresh products ordered
• Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Maintaining a positive attitude
• Staying current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensuring proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept
• Reinforcing safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions to notify store management
• Practicing preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed
• Reporting customer or employee accidents
• Reporting all safety risks/issues and illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud
