- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
- Effective communication skills
Desired qualifications:
- Retail experience
- Second language skills (speaking, reading, or writing)
Responsibilities include:
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing product suggestions
- Maintain knowledge of products and current promotions
- Recommend products and inform customers of specials
- Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action
- Label, stock, and inventory merchandise; provide customers with ordered products
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Stay updated with advertisements and promotions
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management
- Inspect equipment and report repairs needed
- Report customer or employee accidents, safety risks, illegal activities, including theft or fraud
