Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an experienced retail leader in West Des Moines, IA to support Store Manager in driving store performance.

You will contribute to SOP adherence, floor leadership, and exceptional customer service while coordinating staffing and daily operations. Responsibilities include managing merchandise flow, merchandising standards, inventory accuracy, and timely execution of plans.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Ensure execution of Company policies and standards, maintaining store conditions and results.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution, unloading, sorting and flow of merchandise to the floor.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization with store leadership.
• Oversee in-stock optimization routines to drive stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
• Oversee Planogram execution to ensure merchandising sets are accurate and on schedule.
• Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards and product presentation.
• Support a clean, organized store environment including backroom and sales floor recovery.
• Manage inventory control, ensuring product accuracy and stock movement.
• Execute promotional ad sets and pricing changes with accuracy across floors and systems.
• Oversee ship-from-store fulfillment and returns processing ensuring accuracy.
• Manage damages procedures, shrink reduction and reporting.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices.
