Under general guidance, the Store Leader is responsible for the successful leadership of store operations, including building a successful team, developing customer loyalty, driving results, and achieving store goals. The Store Leader leads and motivates the sales team, manages daily store operations, maintains promotional materials, and hires/trains staff. This role supervises Assistant Store Leaders, Senior Guest Advisors, Guest Advisors, and Seasonal Associates. Store Leaders act in accordance with GameStop’s policies, practices, and core values. The ideal candidate should focus on customer satisfaction, meet sales goals, and demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Motivate the sales team to meet sales objectives and loss prevention goals through training and mentoring.
  2. Hire, train, oversee, and develop new store staff.
  3. Coach and counsel associates; monitor and review results; develop staff performance.
  4. Lead associates to drive a selling sales culture that maximizes store profitability.
  5. Deliver excellent customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  6. Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly; respond to escalated issues.
  7. Ensure visual and operational standards are maintained according to company policies.
  8. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. High school diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  3. 3+ years of retail sales experience; 1+ year in a supervisory role.
MINIMUM JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Ability to lead in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  2. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work rotating schedules, including nights and weekends.
  4. Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  5. Effective communication skills in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
  6. Available to work up to 44 hours per week.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  1. Ability to work alone, move throughout the store, and stand for extended periods.
  2. Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  3. Use hands and fingers for small objects, reach, stretch, balance, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders.
  4. Occasional travel via car.
  5. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to focus on screens for extended periods.
