Under general guidance, the Store Leader is responsible for the successful leadership of store operations, including building a successful team, developing customer loyalty, driving results, and achieving store goals. The Store Leader leads and motivates the sales team, manages daily store operations, maintains promotional materials, and oversees hiring and training of staff. This position supervises Assistant Store Leaders, Senior Guest Advisors, Guest Advisors, and Seasonal Associates.

Store Leaders act in accordance with GameStop’s policies, practices, and core values. The ideal candidate must focus on customer satisfaction, meet monthly sales goals, and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Motivate the sales team to meet sales objectives and loss prevention goals through training and mentoring.
  2. Hire, train, oversee, and develop new store staff.
  3. Coach and counsel associates; monitor results; develop staff focusing on performance improvement.
  4. Lead associates to foster a selling culture that maximizes store profitability.
  5. Lead by example by delivering excellent service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  6. Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly; personally respond to escalated issues.
  7. Ensure visual and operational elements align with company standards.
  8. Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  1. Must be at least 18 years old [i].
  2. High school diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  3. At least 3+ years of retail sales experience; 1+ year in a supervisory or managerial role.
MINIMUM JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Ability to lead in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  2. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends.
  4. Ability to follow instructions in various formats.
  5. Effective communication skills in spoken and written English; multilingual skills are a plus.
  6. Must be able to work up to 44 hours per week.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  1. Must be able to work alone, move throughout the store, and stand for extended periods.
  2. Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  3. Ability to perform various physical tasks including reaching, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  4. Occasional travel via car.
  5. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to focus on screens for extended periods.
