Responsibilities
- Learn Walgreens’ operations to lead full store operations across front-end and pharmacy, completing the accelerated development track to Store Manager as outlined in the learning plan.
- Assist and shadow the Store Manager in overseeing store operations during the learning journey.
Training & Personal Development
- Complete a rigorous, accelerated program including all certifications needed for the Store Manager role.
- Participate in classroom, online, and on-the-job training, including rotations in other stores.
- Follow development plans with District and Store Managers, demonstrating proficiency and readiness for permanent assignment.
- Seek self-development, monitor performance, and learn best practices in retail, pharmacy, and management.
- Learn and implement SOPs, and gain knowledge of systems and software; obtain pharmacy technician registration/licensure as required.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, and model customer service best practices.
- Coach team members on customer service, analyze feedback, and develop improvement plans.
Operations
- Gain experience supervising store operations, merchandising, loss prevention, inventory management, and compliance with laws and regulations.
- Support safety, security, and adherence to policies; assist with tasks as needed.
Business Performance Management
- Analyze store and pharmacy performance data, develop action plans to improve sales and control costs.
- Identify sales opportunities, reduce loss, and review operational metrics to enhance results.
Business Planning
- Understand inventory metrics and participate in initiatives to grow front-end and pharmacy business.
People & Performance Management
- Learn people management, including training, coaching, and performance conversations.
- Support team engagement and adapt to store challenges.
Communications
- Attend communication sessions, facilitate team discussions, and assist in community events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years retail management experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years retail management experience.
- Fluent in English; willing to work flexible hours; willing to accept and transfer into Store Manager roles as needed.
- PTCB Certification required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; managerial experience in retail or hospitality advantageous.
