Responsibilities
- Learn Walgreens’ operations and lead full store operations across front-end and pharmacy, completing the accelerated development track to Store Manager as outlined in the learning plan.
- Under the Store Manager’s guidance, oversee store operations, including pharmacy and front-end activities.
- Support store operations by shadowing or assisting the Store Manager during the learning process.
Training & Personal Development
- Complete a rigorous, accelerated program with all necessary certifications for the Store Manager role.
- Participate in classroom, online, and on-the-job training, including rotations in other stores.
- Follow development plans, engage in regular reviews with District and Store Managers, and demonstrate proficiency in learning topics.
- Engage in self-development, monitor performance, and learn about retail, pharmacy, and management best practices.
- Learn and implement compliance SOPs and gain proficiency in systems and software.
- Obtain pharmacy technician registration/licensure as required by law and pursue PTCB certification if applicable.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, and model customer service excellence.
- Monitor and improve customer service, coaching team members and analyzing feedback.
- Assist Store Manager in observing customer service trends and improving service metrics.
Operations
- Gain experience supervising store operations, including opening/closing, merchandising, and asset protection.
- Support inventory management, ensure SOP adherence, and supervise merchandise handling.
- Ensure compliance with laws regarding sales of regulated products and maintain store safety and policies.
- Assist with special tasks and support team members as needed.
Business Performance Management
- Learn to analyze financial and performance data, develop improvement plans, and identify sales opportunities.
- Review asset protection data and develop loss reduction strategies.
- Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years retail management experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 5 years retail management experience.
- Must be fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico), willing to work flexible hours, and accept potential transfers or store manager assignments.
- Must hold PTCB Certification; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Previous managerial experience in retail or hospitality is advantageous.
