Job summary

Tractor Supply Company is seeking a Manager Trainee in Massachusetts to learn the Store Manager role, delivering Legendary Customer Experience while building and leading a team. The program covers sales growth, inventory control, expense management, and shrink reduction through hands-on training and mentorship.

Qualified candidates will have retail experience and the ability to manage a diverse store team, with readiness to work varied hours including peak seasonal periods.

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge; supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma or higher; Bachelor’s degree preferred in Agricultural-Science or Business.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet the Customer, uncover needs, recommend solutions, ask to add value and show appreciation.
• Recruit, hire, develop, evaluate, discipline, and retain team members.
• Create a welcoming environment reflecting diversity, equity and inclusion across team, customers, and communities.
• Schedule, organize, and plan daily activities for staff to ensure efficient store operations.
• Lead team members to deliver legendary shopping experiences differentiating from competitors.
• Communicate policies and directives; coordinate with District/Regional Manager to resolve issues.
• Learn to foster an engaging work environment through promotions, recognition, and empowerment.
• Handle problem solving and conflict resolution for staff and customers.
• Learn sales and profit management; be accountable for top and bottom lines.
