JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION: STORE MANAGER

Overview:

A store manager plans, directs, and controls the operation of the store, supervising all employees to manage production, inventory, merchandising, losses, gross and net profit, and hours of work across all departments. They oversee product ordering, support sales plans, maximize sales, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and collective bargaining agreements (if applicable). The store manager is responsible for hiring, firing, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions for all staff.

Job Requirements:

1. Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
2. Work required schedules to maintain store conditions and profitability.
3. Possess strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and proven leadership abilities.
4. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math operations.
5. Develop and enforce company policies and procedures.
6. Be a self-starter.
7. Travel to and from work with a maximum drive time of 1 hour.
8. Provide verbal and written instructions.
9. Read and interpret financial statements, including profit and loss statements, and set objectives to address deficiencies.
10. Operate all store equipment.
11. Able to open and close the cash office, set up cash register drawers, and balance store cash, maintaining daily cash records.
12. Provide verbal and written direction to employees.
13. Supervise recruiting and training of staff.
14. Conduct meetings to communicate business results and directions.
15. Operate telephones, intercoms, and computer systems; knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word is required.
16. Prepare work schedules within the store budget and complete weekly store reports.
17. Effectively deal with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees, and employee representatives where necessary.
18. Discipline employees according to company policy when needed.
19. Establish, interpret, and administer rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
20. Have extensive knowledge of store duties and be able to perform them if necessary.
21. Maintain a productive and profitable operation within the managed location.
