Job description

The Daiso Store Manager will oversee the daily operations of your assigned store. The Store Manager will ensure the smooth running of store operations to maximize sales and minimize costs. An effective store manager will be able to motivate all store personnel to perform according to their maximum capability. The goal is to manage our store in ways that boost revenues and develop the business.

Essential Functions:
  1. Develop business strategies to raise our customer’s pool, expand store traffic, increase basket size, and optimize profitability.
  2. Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to sales staff.
  3. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service.
  4. Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  5. Maintain outstanding store condition, plan, and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.
  6. Uphold Daiso's standards for display presentation.
  7. Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths.
  8. Address issues arising from staff or customers (complaints, grievances, etc.).
  9. Manage store inventory, including loss prevention through theft and breakage.
  10. Train new employees and provide ongoing education for staff.
  11. Create store schedules to meet customer demand while adhering to payroll targets.
  12. Assign responsibilities to employees and monitor their execution.
  13. Recruit, interview, hire, discipline, and offboard staff as needed.
Requirements:
  1. High School Diploma/GED.
  2. 1-3+ years of relevant experience.
  3. Proven experience as a retail manager or in other managerial roles.
  4. Knowledge of retail management best practices.
  5. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to travel.
  2. Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
Personal Skills & Time Management:
  1. Judgment and decision-making skills.
  2. Strong communication skills.
  3. Ability to manage others.
  4. Driving ability and requirements.
