Job summary

The role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with experience in retail management and adherence to labor laws. A high school diploma is preferred, with prior management experience in retail advantageous.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents including diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies (deposits, store keys, SAFE program).
• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems in varied situations; flexibility in approach.
• Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and address performance gaps up to termination.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate expectations and coordinate safety and policy meetings.
• Open and close the store as required.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability, and turn.
• Manage ordering and inventory to meet in-stock targets; review weekly plans.
• Facilitate stocking and merchandising per company practices.
• Maintain cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed according to guidelines.
