Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in North Carolina to lead all store operations, drive sales, controls costs, and ensure exceptional customer service. You will recruit and train staff, optimize daily workflows, and maintain inventory accuracy while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and loss prevention.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for solutions and/or counseling, up to termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety and policies.
• Ensures store is opened/closed as required; maintains staffing levels.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Manages stock replenishment, ordering plans, and inventory issues weekly.
• Facilitates staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise following company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage align with standards.
• Maintains inventory accuracy; controls damages and errors.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, safe, and well-organized; supports a secure work/shopping environment.
• Ensures tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Follows SOPs, handbook, and company communications; ensures compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
