Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations at our Shawnee, KS location. This role focuses on supervising staff, merchandising, inventory, and cash controls to ensure smooth store performance and excellent customer service.

The candidate will help with staffing, scheduling, opening/closing duties, and maintaining store standards while preparing for a future Store Manager role. Prior retail experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds and cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
