Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Dillon, SC to support the Store Manager in all store processes. This role focuses on staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, and adherence to store procedures.

It is a limited-period development role for external candidates seeking advancement to the Store Manager position. The candidate will assist with recruiting, merchandising, and ensuring in-stock targets while providing strong customer service leadership and maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds and maintain cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the absence of the store manager.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
