The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a self-paced, collaborative training over 16 weeks. It combines virtual and hands-on learning experiences supported by your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to support and lead your team.
  2. Performing customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Executing merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

SMITs are expected to:

  1. Engage actively with leadership during Key Learning Experiences.
  2. Support store operations as a management team member aligned with CVS values and policies.
  3. Support the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note: Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance, availability, and other factors. Candidates must be willing to transfer within the market and work flexible schedules.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. High School diploma or GED (required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
