The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a self-paced, 16-week training that includes virtual and hands-on learning experiences. You will be supported by a team including your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Verbal and written communication skills to support and lead your team.
  2. Customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  3. Merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  4. Store inventory and asset management to maintain profitability.

SMITs are expected to:

  1. Engage actively with leadership during the program to support promotion readiness.
  2. Support the store as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues in the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health.'
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note: Selection does not guarantee promotion; promotion depends on performance and job availability.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the market.
  2. Ability to transfer within the CVS Pharmacy stores in the designated market.
  3. Flexibility to work varying schedules based on business needs.
  4. High School diploma or GED; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  5. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor is preferred.
