The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position through a 16-week, self-paced, collaborative training experience. The program includes virtual and hands-on learning, supported by your District Leader, HR Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  1. Effective verbal and written communication to lead your team.
  2. Providing excellent customer care.
  3. Implementing merchandising strategies to boost sales.
  4. Managing store inventory and assets to ensure profitability.

As an SMIT, you are expected to:

  1. Engage actively with your leader during the program to support your promotion path.
  2. Support your store as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies.
  3. Engage colleagues in supporting the company's purpose of "helping people on their path to better health."
  4. Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note: Selection as an SMIT does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion depends on performance, availability, and other factors. Candidates must be willing to accept a Store Manager role at any location within the market and be able to transfer as needed. Schedule flexibility is required.

Minimum qualifications include:

  1. High School diploma or GED (required).
  2. Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  3. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
