The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. It aims to enhance your career as a future store leader through a self-paced, collaborative 16-week training, including virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Your support team includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and your Store Manager coach.

Key skills for this role include:

  • Effective verbal and written communication to lead your team
  • Customer care duties to ensure high service levels
  • Executing merchandising strategies to support sales growth
  • Managing store inventory and assets to maintain profitability

We invest in your growth and expect our SMITs to:

  • Engage actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences
  • Support your store as a management team member, aligning with CVS values and policies
  • Support the company's purpose of 'helping people on their path to better health'
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market
  • Transfer to other CVS stores within the market as needed
  • Work a schedule that varies based on business needs

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Retail management or CVS supervisory experience (preferred)
