Job description

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Education & Experience: An associate degree in business administration, retail sales, or marketing is preferred; 2 years' experience in staff management and development or a combination of education and experience.
  2. Certifications: Valid Driver's License. Able to drive on behalf of The Salvation Army per Salvation Army Policy.
  3. Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to speak, write, and understand English sufficiently for effective communication with customers, management, and coworkers.
    • Basic computer skills including Point of Sale System, payroll program, Microsoft Office Suite, and other adopted programs or systems.
    • Ability to give change accurately.
    • Good speaking, hearing, vision, and manual dexterity.
  4. Supervisory Responsibility: In conjunction with the Regional Manager, recruit, interview, and recommend for hire store staff. Train and supervise staff. Provide personnel reviews, approve time and attendance, and check time logs regularly, following all regulations and trainings.
  5. Physical Requirements: Regularly stand, use hands, handle or feel, hear or talk. Frequently walk and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, and focus adjustment. The work environment is a store with possible dust, temperature fluctuations, and extended standing.
  6. Travel: May require travel to different locations for work, training, and monthly management sessions.
  7. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a retail store/warehouse environment. Full-time position requiring weekend and evening hours.
