If you're looking for that next step in your career, make it famous! To us, famous isn’t about standing out in the crowd. It’s about feeling good where you stand right now. Famous Footwear offers athletic, fashion, and casual shoes for the whole family from hundreds of name brands.

As a full-time Store Manager, you are passionate about serving your community by providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You do this by challenging yourself and leading your store team to meet and exceed Talent, Culture, and Operational responsibilities. You are a people leader, taking pride in your leadership and ability to motivate a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. Through personal demonstration, training, and development, you create an in-store culture where customers say, “I’ll take it” and are loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You are enthusiastic about the product and presentation of your store, staying up to date on trends, and educating your team to do the same. Most importantly, you LOVE shoes, and regardless of your style, you help every person who enters your store experience a little bit of that Famous Feeling.

What You’ll be Doing

  1. Inspire The Customer Connection: You’ll inspire the team with integrity and drive, fostering a culture centered on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery. Dedicate time to develop internal talent by assessing associates’ strengths and opportunities, motivating new levels of greatness through coaching and modeling selling behaviors.
  2. Lead Talent Discovery: Seek out and network with exceptional external talent, investing in developing strong succession plans for leadership roles. Hire individuals passionate about creating top-notch customer experiences.
  3. Own Retail Operations: Manage day-to-day store operations, including pricing, shipment processing, inventory, and store standards. Make staffing decisions to ensure optimal team performance during peak times and seasonal demands.
  4. Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Take ownership of sales goals, using business insights to refine strategies and improve results. Recognize the importance of each sale and align operational efforts accordingly.
  5. Be the Architect of a Winning Culture: Foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive work environment. Promote team engagement to increase retention and performance, setting a strong example for others.
  6. Additional Benefits: Monthly performance bonus, career development opportunities, employee discounts, relaxed dress code, daily access to pay, employee assistance programs, and comprehensive benefits including PTO, health, and retirement.

Preferred Qualifications & Education

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1-5 years retail management experience, preferably in specialty retail.
  • Strong relationship-building, goal setting, leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
  • Basic computer skills and physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand, walk, and perform related physical activities.
