Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist in supervising staff, managing inventory and ensuring store standards. This role supports the Store Manager and participates in merchandising, cash handling, and daily operations to maintain a safe and efficient store environment.

The candidate will help with open/close duties, reconciliations, and reporting while upholding company policies and customer service excellence. Strong organizational skills and reliability are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Learn and operate IBM cash register functions and reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in staffing and supervision.
• Assist with merchandising, staging and pricing of merchandise.
• Oversee inventory tasks, damages, markdowns and requisitions.
• Help meet in-stock targets and proper ordering practices.
• Lead customer service efforts and safety practices.
• Follow procedures, open/close activities and cash controls.
• Assist in reviews of operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on schedule.
