Summary
The Store Manager oversees and is responsible for the store's sales efforts in each department in the store and supervises the store's overall operation to ensure efficiency and profitability. Enforces, conveys, and upholds the organization's policies, goals, and standards to the store's sales team to meet sales goals. The Store Manager consistently communicates with the District Sales Manager and the Store Support Center to drive initiatives and business growth. Represents the company's brand in appearance, attitude, and professionalism portrayed to employees, customers, and the community. The Store Manager is knowledgeable in each product area or department in our store. The Store Manager is passionate about giving outstanding customer service and promoting the merchandise in stores.
Responsibilities
- Drive store sales and meet sales goals, focusing on company growth.
- Manage and control store assets effectively.
- Oversee sales efforts, training, and mentoring staff in sales strategies.
- Monitor sales statistics, inventory, and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on policies, goals, and procedures.
- Ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are met.
- Mentor and develop Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training.
- Handle recruiting, hiring, training, discipline, and performance evaluations. Manage payroll and scheduling to meet labor goals.
- Maintain store security and partner with Asset Protection to prevent theft and reduce shrinkage.
- Communicate inventory movement and strategies with the District Sales Manager.
- Implement marketing and advertising plans, staying aware of customer trends.
- Stay informed about competitors and community events to seize opportunities.
- Provide exceptional customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
- Protect company assets and financial information, ensuring internal controls are effective and reporting potential fraud risks.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage subordinate supervisors and staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and laws.
- Handle employee relations, including interviews, discipline, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in retail, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- Proven ability to manage and develop sales teams.
- 3-5 years of customer service experience; 3+ years of management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to outstanding customer service.
