Overall Job Summary

The Manager Trainee is responsible for learning the duties of the Store Manager position and developing the skills required for a Store Manager role. Primary duties include delivering a Legendary Customer Experience, building the team, driving sales, managing inventory, managing profit and sales, expense control, reducing and managing shrink.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruiting, hiring, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and retaining efficient team members.
  • Delivering Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet, Uncover Needs & Wants, Recommend Solutions, Add Value & Appreciate.
  • Creating a welcoming environment that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Scheduling, organizing, and planning daily activities for team efficiency.
  • Leading team members to ensure a Legendary shopping experience.
  • Communicating policies and evaluating processes for effectiveness.
  • Learning to create a desirable work environment with promotions, recognition, and empowerment.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Learning sales and profit management to achieve top and bottom-line goals.
  • Promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Managing merchandise flow and inventory controls.
  • Organizing merchandise resets and ensuring presentation standards.
  • Evaluating the competitive environment and coordinating with teams.
  • Training on paperwork processing, sales forecasting, payroll analysis, and documentation.
  • Managing inventory needs and solving related issues.
  • Coordinating and conducting special sales events and supporting district issues.
  • Developing team members for advancement.
  • Training on budgeting and store audits.
Required Qualifications

Retail experience or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus. Must be 18+ years old with a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
  • Valid driver’s license for company driving.
  • Proficiency with POS and inventory systems.
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
  • Access to all store areas and ability to operate equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work varied hours, including weekends.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Standard office conditions. Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, reach, drive, and lift.
