Full Time

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000

Benefits:

Position Summary

The Store Manager is a critical leadership position responsible for driving store profitability, operational excellence, and maintaining the unique culture of Steamboat Ace Hardware. Leading a team of 75 floor employees, the person hired to fill this role embodies our commitment to exceptional customer service, teamwork and community-oriented retail. The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a team of department managers and store associates. This role includes hiring, training, and evaluating staff to foster a culture of growth and excellence. The Store Manager will maintain inventory accuracy, implement merchandising strategies, enforce safety compliance and promote a customer-first philosophy. With a focus on operational efficiency and employee development, the Store Manager plays a crucial role in driving store performance and enhancing the overall shopping experience.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 5 years management experience in the hardware store/home center industry
    • Experience running a team with at least five direct reports and 25 total team members
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 5-10 years experience as manager or GM of a high volume Ace Hardware store, or experience managing a multi-store operation.
    • Management experience with at least 8 direct reports and 60+ team members
    • Knowledge of Epicor, Mango and Margin Master

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Serve as a visible and valued leader in a community-oriented hardware store. Lead and develop a high-performing team of department managers and sales associates. Foster a positive workplace culture that reflects Steamboat Ace Hardware's traditions and values. Recruit, hire, train, and ensure optimal staffing levels. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback. Resolve conflicts and address staffing issues. Work in close collaboration with the two store owners.
  • Sales & Operations: Direct staff efforts to meet customer needs, drive sales, manage inventory and maximize store profitability. Enhance the store’s visual presentation through merchandising efforts.
  • Customer Service: Champion customer service excellence and ensure a culture of customer service thrives. Address and resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively.
  • Employee Development: Hire, train, and develop department managers and associates, providing performance feedback and recognizing accomplishments.
  • Culture: Model organizational culture that embraces teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety policies and promote compliance with Colorado employment law.
